Enzymatic Reagents in Sample Preparation

Enzymatic processing is a core component of nucleic acid sample preparation workflows, enabling efficient lysis, protein digestion and removal of interfering biomolecules prior to purification.

Within Magen systems, enzymes are not used as standalone reagents but as integrated workflow components supporting column and magnetic bead–based purification. Proteinase K enables effective protein digestion during lysis, while RNase A and DNase I are applied to selectively remove unwanted nucleic acids. In low-input workflows, carrier RNA improves recovery by reducing adsorption loss and stabilizing nucleic acids during processing.

These enzymatic steps ensure consistent nucleic acid release, improved purity and reliable downstream performance across diverse sample types including tissue, blood, microbial samples and low-abundance inputs.
