The Viral & Pathogen series from Magen supports nucleic acid preparation workflows commonly used in infectious disease research and laboratory monitoring.
These systems are designed for low-cell biological samples such as plasma, serum, swab transport media and culture supernatants, as well as more complex matrices including sputum and tissue homogenates.
Two technical platforms are available within the series:
For routine viral nucleic acid extraction from low-background samples, column systems such as HiPure Viral DNA/RNA Kit (IVD4175) are commonly used. Laboratories using automated extraction platforms may prefer magnetic bead systems such as MagPure Viral DNA/RNA Kit (IVD5412).
For more complex microbial samples or sequencing-oriented pathogen studies, broader pathogen recovery systems are available, including HiPure Pathogen DNA/RNA Kit (IVD4179) for column workflows and MagPure Pathogen DNA/RNA Enrich Kit (R6672C) designed to improve pathogen signal in sequencing preparation workflows.
