Chemical Reagents in Nucleic Acid Extraction Workflows

Chemical reagents form the foundation of nucleic acid extraction systems, controlling cell lysis, protein denaturation, inhibitor removal and nucleic acid binding conditions. The performance of DNA and RNA purification workflows depends not only on column or magnetic bead systems, but also on the composition and quality of these core reagents.

Magen molecular biology–grade reagents are selected and quality-controlled for integration into nucleic acid workflows. Chaotropic salts such as guanidine compounds enable protein denaturation and nucleic acid binding, while detergents and surfactants support membrane disruption. Additional components are used to remove inhibitors such as polyphenols and polysaccharides, improving extraction performance from challenging samples.

By optimizing these chemical components, stable and reproducible workflows can be achieved across applications including genomic DNA extraction, RNA purification and complex sample processing.
