DNA/RNA Binding Magnetic Bead Systems

Magnetic bead materials provide a flexible platform for nucleic acid purification across a wide range of laboratory workflows, particularly where scalability, automation compatibility and adjustable binding conditions are required.

Within the Magen sample preparation portfolio, magnetic beads are engineered with defined surface chemistries, particle size distributions and magnetic response profiles to support DNA and RNA binding under chaotropic or PEG-mediated conditions. Silica-based particles are commonly used for nucleic acid extraction from routine, low-input or fragmented samples, while carboxyl-coated beads are applied in clean-up, size selection and enzymatic workflows such as NGS library preparation.

Different bead types are optimized for specific processing conditions, including sample input volume, nucleic acid abundance and fragment characteristics. This enables laboratories to select appropriate materials for applications ranging from general DNA/RNA isolation to circulating DNA workflows and post-extraction processing.

All magnetic bead systems are compatible with both manual protocols and automated platforms, supporting consistent performance across diverse laboratory environments.
