Introduction

The MagPure Tissue & Blood DNA Kit provides a magnetic bead–based workflow for purification of genomic DNA from a wide range of biological samples including blood, dried blood spots, swabs, cultured cells, saliva, and small tissue samples. DNA released during lysis is captured by magnetic particles and purified through automated washing steps, producing DNA suitable for routine molecular biology workflows.

The system is designed for automated nucleic acid extraction instruments and supports preparation of genomic DNA for PCR analysis, sequencing library preparation, and genetic testing studies. Customer validation experiments have demonstrated that DNA purified with this workflow performs well in Oxford Nanopore sequencing workflows, supporting long-read sequencing applications that require intact genomic DNA.

Within the Magen DNA purification systems, laboratories performing manual column extraction may use the HiPure Universal DNA Kit (D3018), while blood-specific workflows are available through the HiPure Blood DNA Mini Kit (D3111) and automated blood extraction can be performed using the MagPure Blood DNA Kit (D6311).

Storage and Stability

Proteinase K and MagPure Particles N should be stored at 2–8°C upon arrival. However, short-term storage (up to 24 weeks) at room temperature (15–25°C) does not affect their performance. The remaining kit components can be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) and are stable for at least 18 months under these conditions.
