Introduction
Mechanical homogenization is a critical step in nucleic acid sample preparation, particularly for samples that are difficult to lyse such as microbial cells, plant tissues and complex biological matrices. In these workflows, bead-based disruption provides rapid and reproducible sample processing prior to downstream purification.
Magen pre-filled bead tubes integrate optimized bead compositions, sizes and chemical components for different sample types. Depending on the application, these tubes support efficient bacterial and fungal cell disruption, tissue homogenization and challenging sample processing such as stool or pathogen-containing materials. Some configurations combine mechanical grinding with chemical lysis components to improve disruption efficiency.
By standardizing bead composition and workflow conditions, these systems reduce variability between samples and improve consistency in downstream column and magnetic bead–based nucleic acid extraction workflows.

The homogenization tube contains different grinding beads. It is recommended to choose a suitable homogenization tube for different samples and use it cooperated with the MagMix A vortex/bead grinder for bead grinding, which can effectively lyze samples which are difficult to lysis.
