Introduction

MagPure Universal HW DNA Kit is designed for the preparation of high molecular weight genomic DNA from a broad range of biological samples, including animal tissues, cultured cells, blood and microbial materials. The system combines protease-based lysis with controlled magnetic bead binding conditions, enabling efficient DNA recovery while minimizing mechanical fragmentation.

In routine laboratory workflows, sample characteristics can vary significantly, but a consistent purification strategy is often preferred. This kit provides a balanced solution where lysis efficiency and DNA integrity are maintained across different sample types without requiring extensive protocol adjustments. The magnetic bead workflow allows gentle handling during binding, washing and elution steps, supporting recovery of long DNA fragments suitable for integrity-sensitive downstream applications.

For workflows focused on specific sample challenges, more specialized systems may be considered. Tissue samples with higher levels of structural complexity can be processed using the MagPure Tissue HW DNA Kit (D6382), while bacterial samples requiring enzymatic cell wall disruption are better handled by MagPure Bacterial HW DNA Kit (D6383). For fungal and plant materials, which typically require mechanical disruption or inhibitor removal strategies, dedicated solutions such as MagPure Fungal HW DNA Kit (D6384) and MagPure Plant HW DNA Kit (D6385) provide more targeted workflows.

Storage and Stability

Proteinase K, RNase A and MagPure Particles should be stored at 2–8°C upon arrival. However, short-term storage (up to 24 weeks) at room temperature (15–25°C) does not affect their performance. The remaining kit components can be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) and are stable for at least 18 months under these conditions.
