Direct 5 mL Whole Blood RNA Extraction Kit

Introduction

HiPure Blood RNA Midi Kit B is designed for direct isolation of total RNA from fresh or frozen whole blood and other liquid samples using MagZol reagents. The workflow processes up to 5 mL of fresh anticoagulated whole blood without a separate red blood cell lysis step, simplifying sample preparation and reducing handling before RNA purification.

Following MagZol lysis, RNA is purified using column technology with on-column DNase treatment to reduce genomic DNA contamination. Blood lysates prepared with MagZol 3BD can also be stored before purification, providing flexibility for sample collection, transport and batch processing. The purified RNA is suitable for downstream applications including RT-PCR, Northern blotting, mRNA purification, nuclease protection assays and in vitro translation.

Storage and Stability

Buffer BCP2 and MagZol 3BD should be stored at 2–8°C upon arrival. DNase I should be stored at -20°C. However, short-term storage (DNase I up to 1 weeks, Buffer BCP2 and MagZol 3BD up to 8 weeks) at room temperature (15–25°C) does not affect their performance. The remaining kit components can be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) and are stable for at least 24 months under these conditions.
